Tips to keep your kitchen clean – House cleaning tips series
Because the kitchen is often the most used space in your home, whether you cook every night or batch cook on weekends, it’s only natural for it to grow messy. The reality is that your kitchen requires your care on a daily basis; ignoring the dishes or forgetting to wipe the surfaces might result in a much larger job on the weekend, and who wants to clean on weekends? (But not us!) Here are a few ideas for keeping your kitchen clean and safe for your entire family. This is a part of our house cleaning tips series.
A kitchen disaster may be frustrating. We can’t cook in an unclean kitchen, and having to clean it before we can begin affects my spirit. Therefore, the kitchen must maintain a basic level of cleanliness and order.
Here are a few tips to help you with kitchen cleaning – House cleaning tips series
Tip #1 Clean While You Wait
If you find yourself waiting in the kitchen, make the most of your time. While you’re waiting for the kettle to boil, clean the kitchen countertops, put the dishes away, or unload the dishwasher; you’ll be surprised at how much you can do in the time it takes for the kettle to boil or the chicken to thaw. These few minutes of cleaning will help to maintain the kitchen clean and neat for a longer period of time.
Tip #2 Start with a clean kitchen
If at all possible, wait until your kitchen is sufficiently clean before starting to cook. You’ll get depressed and throw up your hands in despair after cooking dinner if your kitchen is already a shambles when you start cooking.
You’ll be more driven to keep things tidy if you start with a clean canvas (Cooking is an Art😉).
Tip #3 Clean the sink after washing up
It may seem self-evident, yet it is well worth the effort! As soon as you’ve finished washing the dishes, drain the water from the sink. A bowl of filthy, greasy water can linger in your kitchen for a long time. We’re all guilty of leaving small food deposits in the sink plughole, but it just takes a few seconds to pick them up and toss them in the trash (use rubber gloves if it bothers you!). Finally, sanitise the sink with a kitchen cleanser and a clean towel. You won’t be sorry when you wake up in the morning to a clean and fresh kitchen.
Tip #4 Clean up spills as you go
This is another one of those things that we all know we should do but don’t because we’re in a rush. The truth is that if you respond quickly to a spill, it will be lot easier to clean up. When dried-on filth might have been wiped up with a simple wipe, it has to be moistened or scraped first.
Tip #5 Allocate a place for everything
Have a place for everything, and everything in its place–you know what I’m talking about!
It’s far preferable to have comparable items all in one place than to have them strewn across your kitchen. S tore all of your culinary items on one end of the room. That will leave you with a big span of empty counter. Now you can cook better.
